My son's bedroom is a work in progress. After we built the master suite addition, we moved him into our old master bedroom. To get him excited to move into the new bedroom, we told him we would get him bunk beds. He was 100% onboard with that idea. We would move his dresser from his old room and get a bunk bed, bookshelf, and other related items to match. Decorating it is ongoing so check back regularly for updates.

The furniture we chose for his room came mostly from Wayfair. I find a ton of things at Wayfair and love to shop on their site. You can spend as little or as much as you want and get really nice stuff. They have everything from self-assembly to white-glove delivery. I love the site and can spend hours on it! When we did the master suite addition, we had hardwood floors installed in the entire second story of our house. While I love hardwoods, you still need area rugs to make it homey and cozy. I also wanted to put curtains in his room to block out the light in the early morning. I want to encourage sleep, not have him wake up at 5AM with the sun!
We went with bunkbeds with a full bed on the bottom and a twin on top. He sleeps on the bottom bunk and uses the top bunk as his “Minecraft lair”. He loves Minecraft so we have been finding all sorts of Minecraft bedding, sheets, and decor for it.
